Our Schemes

Dewis Supported Accommodation Scheme (NPT) and Rapid Supported Accommodation & Step Down Service (Bridgend)

We offer a range of supported accommodation including shared flats and houses and self-contained flats for young people who are homeless, potentially homeless or in other housing need. Dewis manage the units that are provided by Linc Cymru, Tai Tarian, United Welsh Housing Association and Valleys 2 Coast.

Our dedicated team of housing and support staff provide support to enable young people to live independently and maintain a tenancy with the aim of moving-on to accommodation with either a Housing Association or in the private rental sector.

Dewis Bond Scheme

Our Bond Scheme offers help to anyone aged between 18 and 35 who are on benefits or low income access good quality private rented accommodation.We do this by providing a written guarantee to the Landlord that we will pay out up to the value of the Bond, if there is any damage to the property or rent arrears at the end of a tenancy. We also provide low level housing management support at the beginning of the tenancy to assist in accessing housing and welfare benefits and in setting up utility connections.

Crisis Support Scheme

Dewis Crisis Support Scheme offers accommodation for young people aged between 16 and 25 who are leaving the care of the Local Authority or require emergency accommodation. The scheme offers access to a private room and use of facilities in a 24 hour staffed 4 bed property. The period of placement can vary in length from 1 night to in excess of 6 months dependant on the need/vulnerability of the young person.

Our dedicated team of support staff provide support, with tenancy related independent living skills and work closely with young people and their referrer/other agencies to support planned exit onto the next placement. Our Crisis Support Scheme is based in Neath Port Talbot.

Transitional Support Scheme

Dewis Transitional Support Scheme is pilot funded by the Welsh Government Youth Innovation Fund Grant to provide a new and innovative additional housing provision to support young people aged 16-21 who meet the following priority areas:- vulnerable due to disability, Care Leavers or have been in the Youth Justice System. The scheme provides accommodation and an intensive support package during a transitional period which may include risk of breakdown of placement, awaiting a move date between placements, or needing additional assessment.

We offer information, advice and guidance for young people on homelessness, housing and financial matters and work closely with our strategic partners to address critical issues in young peoples' lives. Commissioners and Service Heads can be sure of a flexible and innovative needs-led service to provide bespoke housing related support.
